Our client, a leading UK retail brand, needed to rapidly scale its Digital, Tech & Data teams, facing the dual challenge of hiring specialist talent across multiple domains and navigating immigration complexities.

Executive summary

The partnership delivered a streamlined recruitment process, global candidate sourcing, and comprehensive relocation support, resulting in the successful placement of 33 critical hires — including 19 international relocations — that strengthened our client’s market position and operational capability.



The Problem


Despite their market position, the company encountered significant hurdles in securing specialist candidates for over 150 open roles, 

spanning from Solution Architecture, Product Management, Cloud and Software Engineering, Network Engineering, Digital Marketing to Trading.

The challenge was twofold:

  • Sourcing world-class talent with expertise across diverse specialisms.
  • Managing the complexities of hiring candidates requiring visa sponsorships and facilitating smooth global relocations.

With UK-based talent in short supply for such specialist roles, our client needed to tap into global markets and ensure a seamless experience for both the company and the incoming employees.



The Solution


Collaboration and process innovation formed the backbone of the solution. Working closely with various Talent Acquisition stakeholders, we initiated a weekly feedback loop with the Head of TA. 

Key elements of the solution included:

  • Lean, refined hiring process: We skipped traditional first-stage video interviews by qualifying candidates and conducting technical vetting before company-led technical and HR interviews.
  • Expert, global sourcing: Operating around the clock, we dramatically increased the candidate funnel while maintaining high standards.
  • Relocation and sponsorship support: Understanding the challenges of international moves, we created detailed info packs and offered support sessions to help with housing, visas, and family logistics.
  • Continuous improvement: Regular touchpoints with the TA team ensured transparency, agility, and process refinement at every stage.


Result


Through this strategic approach, we delivered exceptional results during the critical 2022 hiring period, addressing our client’s talent needs and strengthening their teams for the future:

Successfully placed 33 highly-skilled professionals across key Digital, Tech & Data functions, including software engineers, data analysts, and IT specialists. Notably, 19 of these hires relocated with their families from countries such as Brazil, India, Iran, Pakistan, and Ukraine, bringing diverse expertise and global perspectives to the team.

Expanded the retailer’s access to a broader, competitive talent market by supporting visa sponsorship and managing the complexities of international relocation, ensuring a seamless onboarding process for overseas candidates.

Achieved high retention rates, with the majority of placed candidates continuing to contribute to our customer’s success, demonstrating the quality of the hires and their alignment with the company’s culture and goals.
